Event testimonials

These are captured on-site at Buffini events and serve as the backbone of many promotional assets, social videos, and event recaps. The goal is the same regardless of format: a real Member, speaking honestly about their experience and results. Two production approaches are used depending on available time, resources, and environment. The format does not determine the destination. Either style can feed social, promos, or recaps.

General guidelines

Produced testimonials

When time and environment allow, set up properly. Use cinema cameras on a tripod. Find a location with controlled sound and lighting. A quiet room or a corner of the venue away from the event floor works. Good audio and a clean, well-lit frame make the footage more versatile and easier to use across more contexts. This is the preferred approach when the schedule allows for it.

Run and gun

When time is short or the environment does not allow for a full setup, shoot on a phone. Find the quietest space available. Stabilize the shot. Prioritize audio above everything else. A run and gun clip has real value, especially for social, but only if the viewer can hear what the Member is saying. A noisy or visually chaotic clip is hard to use anywhere.

Tone and approach

Genuine and direct across both formats. These do not need to be lengthy. A focused two-minute testimonial from a credible Member is more valuable than a long interview that loses energy. The Member should speak to a specific result or moment, not give a general endorsement.

Usage

Event testimonials feed promotional assets, social clips, and event recaps regardless of which format was used. Capture with downstream use in mind. Get releases signed on-site. Log subjects and topics so the footage is easy to find and use after the event.
